The Big Agnes should hold up in a hurricane. This is one sturdy setup. I grabbed it this morning, intending to shake off the dew from the walls, and found that it simply didn't want to shake. When it's pegged out, it's solid as a rock. A lot of ice was melting off of the trees above as soon as the sun hit them, but it shed water like a duck. The tub floor comes up high enough to protect it from runoff, and the fly efficiently channels the water out away from the inside. Check out the vestibule - it's 5 square feet of dry space, big enough for cooking (only if you never plan to take the tent into bear country - so I'll never get to try it out for kitchen space.) The tent itself has 22 square feet of room, and with 35 inches of headroom, I had room to sit up - something that was impossible in the Zoid. |
