The Alaska Basin in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness

The lower end of South Teton Canyon, before arriving back at the bottom of the Devils Stairs.

This shot I dedicate to my late buddy James "Bud' Musgrove, a fiery defender of wild places and bears.
It's from a late fall trip that Steve Parson and i did to South Teton Canyon, and it shows one of the many bears that we spotted from this one location at the bottom of an avalanche chute that runs down the mountainside below the Teton Canyon Shelf.
