Looking across the Alaska Basin towards the Grand in the Grand Teton National Park. That's a lot of mighty fine country to wander through. It'll be good to get back.
By the way, if you're used to the scale of elevation in the eastern mountains, consider this: The top of the Grand in this photo is about 4,300 feet higher than the 9,640 feet elevation where I'm standing to take the photo. That's equal to the elevation gained when climbing the Baxter Creek trail or about 400 feet higher than what you climb on the Rainbow Falls trail in the Smokies.

Flower IDs aren't one of my strong points, but I think that the fine specimens below are a type of lupine. If not, my apologies, but they're still a treat to see.
