More flowers grace the rocky bench that runs along the lip of Darby Canyon, along the edge of the high cliffs that separate Darby Canyon from the Death Canyon Shelf, and the Jedediah Smith Wilderness from the Grand Teton National Park. The two peaks in the bottom photo are Mount Bannon and Fossil Mountain. Fox Creek Pass lies just beyond the horizon to the left (east) of Fossil Mountain. I'm not sure that the Pass is accessible from up here though, at least not without a lot of rope and climbing skills. The high cliff band runs for miles above the Death Canyon Shelf, probably forming a nearly impassable barrier to hooking up the two regions. On my next trip, I want to work my way around the lower slopes of Fossil Mountain to see if I can find a connecting route.
