Grand Targhee and the South Leigh Lakes, Jedediah Smith Wilderness

Above: The view west towards the Teton Basin and the distant Big Hole Mountains of Idaho from the road that climbs up to the Grand Targhee Ski Area. The lush meadows at the base of the mountain border the road that leads to North and South Teton Canyons and the many trailheads that lead out from the end of that road.

Below: Part of the slopes that make up the Grand Targhee Ski Area. Targhee is the 'cowboy' ski resort, known for it's incredible powder and laidback atmosphere.
I believe that the sharp peak on the left (northeast) skyline is 9943' Marys Nipple. The sharp-topped peak closer to the foreground is Peaked Peak. The trail to South Leigh Lakes climbs up Freds Mountain behind the Targhee ski complex, then cuts south behind 9,827' Peaked Peak (pronounced Peak-ed Peak) and around 9943' Marys Nipple before following the high ridgeline east towards the Lakes and Beards Wheatfield.
