As you near the top of the canyon, the trails gets steadily steeper. If you look closely, you might spot a moose or bighorn in the bowl just below Table Mtn. The trail bends to the right (west) just past this point to climb the wall of the cirque. A cirque is formed by the erosive power of glaciers, slowly wearing away the bowl-shaped valley at the head of a canyon.
