Paul pauses to take in the view on our annual Day After Christmas visit to LeConte in 2004. On this trip, we hiked from Newfound Gap to LeConte, via the Boulevard trail. Heavy snow, followed by pouring rain and frigid temperatures had turned much of the AT and the Boulevard into a treacherous obstacle course of deep snow and black ice. It was a fine, fine day to be in the Great Smokies.
