If you go to Mt. LeConte, you need to take time for the obligatory
photo in front of the Lodge, taking care to be sure that the elevation
sign shows up - 6,593 feet. Here, Paul makes sure that everybody is
lined up properly.

Alright, now that's better! Hey, wait a minute - Chris, what'cha looking
at? Over here! One more time so that I can get all of the names straight
- from the left, it's Angie, Marty, Martha, Mary Alice, Chris, and
Gretchen.

A good day for flying kites at Cliff Top. It still wasn't very cold
- it was probably a little over 40 degrees, but the dampness and screaming
winds made it feel a lot colder than a thermometer would indicate.

It didn't take long to see what there was to see at Cliff Top. We
leaned into the wind for a few minutes, pointing out in the mist the
landmarks that we could have seen if it had been clear weather.

Here, Paul tries out his aerodynamic qualities, hoping to find out
how the ravens do it. He tried really hard, but never quite achieved
lift-off.

And then, we head back down, rounding the point at Cliff Top, a couple
of hundred feet below our recent vantage point. Can you see the 'face'
on the profile of Cliff Top?

Paul spotted Wild Turkey near the Lodge - he's quite a hunter when
the occasion demands. Here, he and Angie are making their way down
the slick rock near Cliff Top.
