Note the distinctive coffin-shaped boulder in the top photo. In Harvey Broome's journal, he mentions the large rock as an identifying feature of Drinkwater Pool, along with a vivid description of the deep waters of the pool itself. The Pool lies below a low point on the west rim of the valley, helping to identify the location. It is above the upper cascades, not below as often mentioned in other descriptions of the valley. Again though, I'd like to point out that this pool doesn't have an 'official' name, so the reader is free to place it upon the destination of their choice. However this, I believe, is the pool that Broome described so well.
