That's Big Game Ridge on the horizon in the top photo. The small hot spring in the photo is blue in color, indicating that the spring contains scalding water. It's important to avoid walking on the delicate thermal features near the springs - they're fragile and sometimes there is only a thin crust of soil over the boiling water. Fallling through is a really good way to screw up your day, especially when you consider that you're miles from the trailhead.
