Paul holds yet another large antler left behind on the forest floor. The open glade is typical of much of the forest once you approach the valley floor. The rich grass supports a wide variety of wildlife, including black bears like the mama and cubs in the bottom photo. While much is made of the predatory habits of bears, many spend much of their time grazing like cattle when lush green grass is available.
