Views from two points in Lamar Valley featuring the grass that attracts thousands of elk and bison each winter. The top photo is near the base of Specimen Ridge, on the west end of the Bench.

The bottom photo looks up the western slope of the Bench, not far from Crystal Creek. We took these photos on an absolutely perfect day in Yellowstone - blue skies, cool temps, stiff breeze, and plenty of time to wander the glens and meadows along the base of Specimen Ridge.
