There are no major peaks along the Rescue Creek trail, but the low ridges invite you to ramble about enjoying the views from on top. Many little glacial ponds still remain, centuries after the last large glacier melted away. Below, Annie and Tom enjoy the views south towards the Washburn Range and Blacktail Plateau. We're still about two miles north of the campsite. Along this stretch, the trail often faded from view, a testament to the low amount of use that it gets. Snowfall isn't very heavy in this part of the Park during the winter months, and it makes a fine destination for a wintertime hike, with abundant wildlife all around. During the summer months, it's hot and dry. The dryness means - no mosquitoes! |
