Flowers carpet the hillside above, while a curious mule deer turns to watch our passage along the trail. The deer along this stretch of trail, as well as the many that roam the campground in the valley below, seem to be a little too well accustomed to human presence. Though it's illegal, a lot of slobs still think that it's really cute to get a photo of one of the deer with a piece of Wonder Bread dangling from its mouth.
