The small campground at Slough Creek is in a quiet part of Yellowstone, and is spared the onslaught of motor homes that are common in many of the other campgrounds of the Park. Located about 2.3 miles from the main highway at the end of a bone-jarring dirt road, the campground used to get most of its traffic from fishermen. Nowadays, it probably gets even more usage from the wolf and bear watchers that flock to Lamar Valley during the summer months. These photos were taken during the early part of June while Slough Creek was still swollen with snowmelt and heavy rain.
