Top photo: #23, at the time this photo was taken, was still a small young bull. While I waited for the car in front of me to move on up the road, I was surrounded by several elk that started licking the salt off of the car. I had driven over snowy roads to reach the Park that morning and evidently just enough salt had splashed up on the car to attract the attention of the elk.

Bottom photo: A baleful glare from #23 - I was thinking that I really hoped that he wouldn't try sticking his head into my Subaru while I waited for the moron in front of me to move his car. He had parked sideways, blocking the narrow road to take photos of the bull licking the headlights on the Ru.
