At top, a coyote nervously approaches the carcass of an elk killed by wolves in the Gibbon River. The small coyote would spend most of the day in the midst of a highway construction project staging area, darting across the road occasionally to nab a piece of elk, then run back to the 'safety' of the construction melee. It appeared to be getting a bit of food in the form of handouts from the construction crew as well.
